Westlands Funday! 18/9/2010

Well, what a day it was! ‘Food and Fun’ was the order of the day & didn’t we have some! There were all kinds of creations, Faces with kiwi eyes and lots of very pretty picture’s, all made from food.
Demonstrations in making a tomato look like a rose, and how to prepare vegetables and fruit. As we had quite a lot of ingredients left over from our cake stall, we decided to do ‘designer biscuits’ too! This is when ‘anything’ goes, piped icing, sprinkles of chocolate and multi colour Hundreds and Thousands, all together with Dolly Mixtures and any thing else that could be found. Everybody had a great time!
The Young Persons Group is not just for you young un’s – it’s for all your family and friends too.
Do you think that you can suggest an unusual idea for next years Fun Days? Go on use your imagination! If you have a great idea it could win a prize! Ask Mum or Dad to contact the residentsupportofficer@chelmerhp.org.uk to tell them about your idea.

Younger Persons Group Update –
The Fun Days!
We hope you have enjoyed the three Fun Days over the summer. At our cake decorating stall at the Meadgate Fun Day we had had an amazing 120 cakes decorated and eaten in the space of three hours!

Melbourne Survey
While we were at Melbourne we did a ‘Top Interests’ survey – Tennis and Swimming were the most popular believe or not. Although Wimbledon, which was on TV at that time, might have had something to do with the result.
And lastly of course, Westland’s was the last event of the year. Luckily for an event which was very late in the summer we were blessed with good weather. We had more fun with food as you can see below.
